Chinese Democracy goal is to serve the people

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, the Communist Party of China (CPC) developed whole-process people’s democracy as a key concept withrelevant democratic values which are translated intoconcrete actions. China’s democracy is centred on finding solutions to the day to day challenges of the people so that they can live a better life as well as building a sound economy for the country. 

More than 2,900 deputies to the National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s national legislature, have just ended their annual gathering looking at how thecountry’s development and reform priorities, among other things, can be effectively implemented.  The deputies take into consideration the will of the people, as they carry out consultations with the people at all levels to understand their needs and priorities. Democracy with Chinese characteristics helps improve the livelihoods of the Chinese people.

During deliberations with his fellow NPC deputies, Xi who represents Jiangsu Province stressed the importance of pursuing high-quality development, calling it the “first and foremost” task in China’s modernization endeavor.

As the first session of the 14th NPC came end, Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged to perform his duty scrupulously, do his utmost, to win trust of all NPC deputies and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups.Xi who was elected Chinese president by a unanimous vote, said that the people’s trust is the biggest motivation that drives him to perform his duties as expected.  

“From this day forward to the mid-21st century, the central task of the entire Communist Party of China (CPC) and all Chinese people will be to build China into a great modern socialist country in all respects and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts,” he said. He further noted that efforts should be made to effectively upgrade and appropriately expand China’s economy, and continuously increase the country’s economic strength, scientific and technological capabilities and composite national strength.
