With the theme of “Mission and Responsibility of Friendship Organizations in the New Era: Building People-to-People Bonds Together”, the 2023 Sichuan “Belt and Road” International Non-governmental Friendship Organization Exchange Conference opened in Chengdu on June 25. More than 50 people from along the “Belt and Road” National dignitaries, heads of friendly organizations, and friendly people attended the event. Dr. Mohamed Khalil, Chairman of the Morocco-China Friendship Exchange Association, attended and delivered a speech offline.
Yang Xingping, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Sichuan Province, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, saying that NGOs are highly transnational, professional and flexible, and are important actors in global governance fields such as human development, environmental protection, and cultural exchanges. This exchange meeting will continue to promote the interconnection between Sichuan and countries along the “Belt and Road”. Integrate into the “Belt and Road” construction.
Dr. Mohamed Khalil, Chairman of the Morocco-China Friendship Exchange Association, pointed out in his speech that Morocco is one of the earliest participants and practitioners of the “Belt and Road” initiative. Over the past 10 years, Morocco and China have achieved fruitful results in economic cooperation, trade and cultural exchanges. The joint construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative will not only benefit Morocco a lot, but will also bring benefits to the entire region and the world.
He said that in March 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward for the first time the grand concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, which was respected by the world for the benefit of all mankind and received extensive and active participation. Morocco and China took the lead in signing the action plan for building a community of shared future. Under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, Morocco-China relations are increasingly full of new vitality, and the building of a community of shared future has achieved fruitful results.
Dr. Khalil also took this opportunity to extend his heartfelt greetings pand best wishes to the people of Sichuan, especially the citizens of Chengdu, and wished the meeting a complete success.
