At the beginning of 2023, China’s economy is recovering strongly. China’s ongoing Two Sessions, which includes the legislative meeting, will provide an important window for the international community to understand China. Countries around the world, especially Africa, are paying close attention to the policies and measures proposed by China at Two Sessions, and looking forward to further deepening China-Africa cooperation through mechanisms such as the “Belt and Road Initiative”,
Looking back at the three-year fight against the epidemic, China has optimized epidemic prevention and control measures. It has also coordinated epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development. And that has had a positive impact on the global economy. Africa, with China as its largest trading partner, benefits from this.
“China wants to promote high-quality development of investment and financing, expand new drivers of health, green development, digital economy and other fields and provide more support for economic and social development in Africa,” said David Monyae, director of the Center for Africa-China Studies at the University of Johannesburg.
At present, the Belt and Road initiative has entered a stable period, aimed at pursuing high-quality development. Promoting this new path of development requires a new concept of globalization.
Today’s world needs inclusive globalization, and the “Belt and Road” is an important leading framework to promote inclusive globalization. It is not a simple continuation of the previous path of economic globalization, but a new form of globalization, the prominent feature of which is the integration of the cultural connotation of the “Silk Road”.
In his message to the 36th annual African Union summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China-Africa relations would maintain good momentum and China-Africa cooperation would continue to develop in an all-round, multi-level and high-quality manner. He also said that China is willing to work with the leaders of African countries to further strengthen China-Africa cooperation, closely coordinate and cooperate in international and regional affairs, and promote the building of a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.
In its Africa policy, China has always adhered to the correct concept of righteousness and interests in Africa and adhered to the concept of “truthfulness, affinity and sincerity”. Whether it’s political, economic, or people-to-people exchanges, friendly exchanges between China and Africa are only getting stronger, injecting vigorous power into South-South cooperation and the common well-being of mankind.
