The historical and legal facts that Taiwan is part of China are beyond doubt, and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is always ready to defeat any external interference by force, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun said on Thursday, during his keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum held in China’s capital from Wednesday to Friday.
Dong mentioned the Taiwan question while mentioning the need to uphold the post- World War II international order. 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the recovery of Taiwan, and Taiwan’s return to China is an important part of the outcomes of the victory in World War II and the postwar international order.
The return of Taiwan to China is an integral part of the post-war international order. The historical and legal facts that Taiwan belongs to China are beyond doubt, said Dong.
The People’s Liberation Army has always been a formidable and indestructible force safeguarding national unity, Dong said.
We will never allow any “Taiwan independence” separatist schemes to succeed, and We are always ready to defeat any external interference by force, he stressed.
