US “diplomatic boycott” on the Beijing winter Olympics games is undiplomatic.

By Staff Writer

The announcement by Jen Psaki, the White House spokesperson that the US administration will not send any diplomatic or official representation at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing is undiplomatic and based on unfounded wild allegations.

The White House press secretary Jen Psaki, said that the reason for US boycott is due to China’s “ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang and other human rights abuses.”

Such wild allegations that cannot be proved, is part of the propaganda machine and a wide agenda by Washington to isolation China.  The US has stretched the dirty game  of tarnishing the image of China by politicizing Olympic games that are supposed to bring the world together to celebrate talented personalities.

Whenever genocide takes place, all over the world, it cannot be hidden from the international community. In the case of China, it is ironical that the US is the only country in the world claiming that genocide is taking place in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

If genocide was truly taking place in Uygur Autonomous region, the United Nations would be the first to raise an alarm, rather than the US, whose poor record on human rights is well documented. Lawyers from the U.S. Department of State said earlier this year that there was insufficient evidence for the U.S. to claim genocide is taking place in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region! The turnaround by the same administration to claim what it knows well has never happened and with no evidence is hypocritical.

What proves wrong the US claims on genocide in Uygur region, is that genocide does not take place out of the blue. Historical evidence shoes that first of all it is planned and affected in stages. Genocide scholars identify the following stages of genocide: Classification, Symbolization Dehumanization, Organization, Polarization, Preparation, extermination and denial as the final stage.

The US claiming that genocide is taking place in China without providing indicators that those stages were put into action, is evidence that the claim is false. China has the right to sue US for unfounded allegations on the highest crime of genocide, which is a crime against humanity.

The rise of China cannot be stopped by US attempts to tarnish its image with intentions to isolate it from the global community.  The US that poses as a global model for human rights has more domestic challenges to deal with before pointing an accusing finger at other countries. Mixing politics with sports leaves a slap in the face of US administration rather than China.
