Peng Liyuan expresses China’s support to Africa in the fight against COVID-19

China’s First Lady Peng Liyuan replied to a message from Antoinette Sassou Nguesso, the first Lady of the Republic of the Congo and the new president of Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), and expressed support to the African people in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic Tuesday.

Peng also wrote to the first ladies of other African countries, to thank the countries for their valuable support to the Chinese people during the difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Chinese government will donate a batch of anti-epidemic materials to 53 African countries through OAFLAD in order to help women, children and adolescents, and also to deepen the friendship between Chinese and Africans, according to Peng.
The outbreak of COVID-19 came suddenly, so mutual assistance, solidarity and cooperation between countries are crucial to the fight against this pandemic, Peng added.

China’s role in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic is highly appreciated by Antoinette Sassou Nguesso, as she wrote to Peng not long ago.

China’s medical supplies have been sent to African countries lately. The countries thanked China for its valuable help to African women, children and adolescents, and added that it also reflects the profound friendship between African countries and China.
