At Africa-China review, today is our first anniversary marking one year since we started our publication. It is as exciting as conceiving a baby, you see the baby being born in a maternity ward and you see the baby grow step by step.
Africa-China Review was born at the right time, when African and China are at their greatest moment of excellent cooperation in all areas including diplomatic relations.
Although Africa and China friendship and cooperation spans decades of years, the year 2019-2020 has been exceptionally remarkable in bringing the Africa-China cooperation more closely.
The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic at the end of last year, affected the global community in equal measure. The rich and poor, the developed and the developing world suffered in the same way. The pandemic showed the world that there is no country or continent that can win the war against the disease, and therefore, the world needs cooperation and coordinated approach to win COVID-19.
On this platform, we covered many stories on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, where China started and is still leading the world in global health diplomacy. All countries on the African continent received medical supplies from China to help in the fight against COVID-19. Experience sharing also helped medical professional on both sides to compare notes on best practices on methods to protect the people against the pandemic.
Although Africa and China are thousands of miles apart, more often than not, foreign governments and media especially from Western countries provide inaccurate and biased narrative, with the purpose of undermining their good image. As we mark one year of our publication, we have strived to tell the story of Africa and China in the right perspective and shaping the right narrative that is usually distorted and misrepresented by foreign interests.
We have shared our stories on about Africa-China cooperation, development and future prospects on social media as well especially on our twitter page. Soon we shall launch other audio visual products and platforms with the purpose of reaching a wider audience and providing informative, accurate and quality information. The journey ahead is still long.
