Xi New Year Speech in perspective

Xi speech for the New Year, gives confidence to the world especially the developing and poor nations that in China, they have a reliable partner in the fight against COVID-19. Whereas the rich nations are practicing vaccine hoarding and vaccine nationalism, creating a huge vaccine gap between rich and poor nations,   China deserves a pat at the back for leading the global fight against COVID-19 by providing more than two billion vaccine doses to more than 120 countries and international organizations.

As the COVID-19 experience has shown, that it does not respect any territorial boundaries and affects the poor and rich countries alike, it is indeed through solidarity and global cooperation that the world can win the war against the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a true manifestation that China is committed to true materialism in dealing with global challenges.

The return of peace and stability in Hong Kong and Macao showed that China is able to solve her own problems without external influence and committed to the implementation of the one country, two systems principle.  This is also evidence that any external influence aimed at destabilizing China using Hong-Kong and Taiwan is only doomed to fail. 

“President Xi’s speech inspires people around the world to love peace, to jointly protect peace, and to work together for common development and prosperity toward building a community with a shared future for mankind,” said Phay Siphan, chief spokesman for the Cambodian government.

As China is preparing to host the 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic winter games, Xi, speech was an assurance that the games provide an opportunity to unite the world, and China was ready to give the best of the winter Olympic Games to the world. Efforts by some western countries led by U.S to announce a diplomatic boycott of the games only served to politicize the games and creating a cold war mentality based on unfounded allegations.

By appreciating services rendered by Chinese nationals in various fields of work including astronauts on duty in outer space, was encouraging. It gave them renewed encouragement and commitment to serve their country with patriotism and dedication in order to collectively achieve national rejuvenation.  President Xi showed love to the Chinese people for their contribution to the nation.  

Robert Lawrence Kuhn, recipient of the China Reform Friendship Medal, said that President Xi used a nice phase, “dream chaser,” which indicated a very positive, energetic and hopeful approach for the future
